Diary poems and a portfolio of artworks

This post was originally published on Blogger. It has been slightly modified to avoid link rot and append an update on the footnotes.

To spend some time during the quarantine, I started tweeting diary poems and posting digital art on social media. The latter even broke my two-year drawing hiatus! Here, I share my thoughts about what I did during the first two months of posting on social media.

Collecting diary poems

My digital diaries are where I store my thoughts on personal life, as well as poems. In fact, I wrote about two years worth of sporadic musings, separated by year. Of course, I would keep most of my personal thoughts in secrecy. How about my poems?

As I gathered my poems from those diaries, I am planning to compile them for my upcoming e-book. Some poems will be edited mainly for the following reasons:

Out of 69 poems listed in my database, 24 of them have been posted on Twitter (at the time of this writing). That is around 35% (which is less than half) of my collection. Not all poems will be published on Twitter, though. Some of them will be exclusive to the e-book.1

Readying my art portfolio and artist support

Honestly, I took a two-year break from digital art because I had to focus on finishing my bachelor's degree. Aha! Finally, my university era ended two weeks before 2020 started. Several months of quarantine have passed... To break my digital art hiatus, I decided to draw original characters (along with a fan art and a cat) and share them on Facebook and Instagram.

Speaking of Instagram, there are some artists there who make artist support posts. These posts encourage fellow artists to introduce themselves, describe their art style, describe which subjects they like to draw, and even tag other artists that they find inspiring. I recently commented on another artist's support post, and I gained three followers (again, at the time of this writing) as a result.

  1. Please feel free to ignore this paragraph. Although I have already deleted my old Twitter account for my poems, I decided to save this part for archival reasons.
